Afghan National Police (ANP) Border Zone Command, Kwaja Jeer

Afghan National Civil Order Police (ANCOP) Patrol Unit and Urban Unit Facilities, Kabul

Project Description

This project consisted of the design and construction of site improvements and facilities to support the Afghan National Border Police (ANP BP) Units in Afghanistan. Technologists, Inc. provided the management, design, material, labor and equipment to design and construct and/or refurbish all utilities, roads, buildings, force protection measures, site security, de-mining activities, and other features.

All standard construction amenities and details—such as site lighting, site drainage and utility connections—were designed and constructed to serve the facilities as indicated on the conceptual site plans and specifications. Aggregate walkways were installed to connect all buildings, facilities and site features.

Technologists, Inc. performed a geotechnical investigation, leach-field testing, water well capacity testing, and a topographic survey of the site. We prepared site paving, grading, utility and drainage plans.

Prior to commencement of new work, Ti searched for, identified and cleared all mines and unexploded ordnance (UXO) from the entire site. We demolished all existing structures and removed and disposed of all debris, concrete, and foundations.

Ti built 12 buildings, including barracks, warehouse, vehicle maintenance and perimeter force protection. Ti also developed all on-site utilities, such as a water system (with chlorination), sanitary sewer system (with septic tank and leach field), site electrical distribution system (with secure generator fuel storage), and trash point.

Ti also instituted force protection measures consisting of masonry and stone perimeter walls, guard towers, a Primary Entry Control Point (ECP) with manually-operated sliding steel gate, two vehicle drop-arm barriers and strategically-placed vehicle barriers. Ti also built a Secondary ECP.
