Project Description
Under this design/build contract, Technologists, Inc. built the Border Crossing Customs and Police Facilities at Sher Khan Bandar, Afghanistan, and Nizhny Pyandzh, Tajikistan. This work was part of a broader bridge initiative linking Afghanistan to Tajikistan, facilitating trade and transit in a safe, secure manner. Serving as a key link on a regional highway eventually extending from Karachi to Astana, Kazakhstan, Ti’s efforts at the Afghan-Tajik border are an important part of the region’s economic growth and mark a historic point in the rebuilding of Afghanistan.
Design/build comprised of all project structures and systems, including 1,200 square meters of:
- Administrative buildings
- Inspection booths
- Police offices, and
- Other border crossing facilities
Project infrastructure—including power, water, and sewage systems—was designed and installed to connect to local and regional utilities in the future.
Ti provided all required O&M manuals. In addition, we provide recommended spare parts lists and framed Instructions for systems. We provided classroom and on-the-equipment training of O&M personnel. We delivered a list of all items furnished under the contract. We also prepared warranty management plans (WMPs) that included all required actions and documents.
Prior to the contract completion date, Ti satisfied all testing, adjusting and balancing requirements for mechanical equipment. Each warranted item was tagged with a durable, oil- and water-resistant tag.
