Afghan National Army (ANA) Class II, IV, & VII Storage Facility, Phase 2

Afghan National Army (ANA) Class II, IV, & VII Storage Facility, Phase 2

Project Description

Technologists, Inc. was the prime contractor for this contract awarded by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Afghanistan Engineer District (AED). Ti was also the contract holder for Phase 1 of this same facility.

This supply storage and distribution depot receives, stores and distributes supplies to military facilities across Afghanistan. The compound houses a responsive logistics infrastructure with simultaneous deployment, employment and sustainment capabilities and a single, integrated, responsive end-to-end distribution system. Moreover, these logistics structures will be capable of integrating interagency and multinational capabilities. The completed facility employs over 800 ANA soldiers and civilians.

The project consisted of:

  • Survey and design
  • Demolition of six existing warehouses
  • Construction of a new warehouse of 5,600 square meters and a second new warehouse of 12,220 square meters
  • Site improvement work for existing warehouses
  • Electrical distribution system with power plant for the new warehouses
  • Water supply tied into existing water distribution system
  • Waste water treatment plant and sanitary sewer system
  • Access road and load area.

Once the design phase was complete, work on-site began in September 2008, when the warehouses were scheduled to be emptied of their inventory. Ti delivered a facility dedicated to providing interdependent, joint logistics capabilities that support the full range of ANA operations at the strategic, operational, and tactical levels.
