Capacity Building

The future of the developing world requires a swift injection of capacity building on all levels of society. At Ti, we have put this idea into practice through professional development of both women and men, mentoring of small businesses, and vocational training. Our professionals not only run projects, they enhance the skills of those around them by sharing their knowledge and imposing best practices. When Ti begins a new project, our outreach to local communities begins. We start by identifying all communities within 5 kilometers of a project site. We then work with community leaders to build our labor pool. We employ over 4,000 skilled and unskilled workers on a daily basis, many of whom receive on-the-job training in the construction trades. Ti’s efforts also have resulted in the development of small businesses and construction-related industries that support our projects.
