Survey
When Technologists, Inc. was asked to build several important Afghanistan construction projects in 2004, there was virtually no modern survey equipment to be found anywhere. Subsequently, there were no Afghan surveyors trained to international standards. By early 2005, Ti had imported several sets of new laser-based surveying systems and hired several university graduate engineers from Kabul University and Kabul Polytechnic University Engineering Schools.
Since its founding, the Survey Department has used the latest available software, such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Leica Geo Office, Sokkia Link, Topcon Link, and state-of-the-art survey equipment such as Leica TPS 400, Leica TPS 805, Leica TPS 1200, Leica Flexline, Leica Viva GNSS, Sokkia Setx, and Topcon 3005.
Ti’s Survey Department has close working relationships with Afghan and US government departments—including the Afghan Geodesy and Cartography Head Office, Kabul Polytechnic University, Kabul Engineering Faculty, and the US Army Corps of Engineers. Over the years Ti’s Survey Department has been able to raise technical skills, knowledge levels and abilities of its members—substantially strengthening staff professional development and increasing productivity several-fold.
