Conventional Soil Absorption Septic System
Technologists, Inc. (Ti) designed and built the Afghan National Police Border Zone Command in Gardez, in Paktya Province. Ti built more than a dozen buildings and also constructed the water-distribution, stormwater collection, power distribution, and communications systems, and built a road system, grading, fencing, and entry-control points.
For wastewater treatment Ti installed a highly efficient conventional soil absorption septic system, one of the largest such systems ever built by the company. The system consists of a septic tank with a capacity of 184 cubic meters, distribution boxes, and a network of underground perforated pipes. Because of a low soil percolation rate, Ti also built a 30 meter by 90 meter absorption area covered by a geomembrane and backfilling.
