Bagram Air Base Landfill Preliminary Plan

Technologists, Inc. served as a subcontractor to Tetra Tech, Inc. on this project for the U.S. Air Force Center for Engineering and the Environment. The scope of work was to conduct a preliminary engineering study of the costs and feasibility of closing an existing landfill and developing a new landfill at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan.

Ti engineers and geologists mapped the site, reviewed applicable environmental regulations, examined the volume of existing sold waste materials, and prepared estimates of the volume of future waste that would be generated by the air base over the next five-ten years.

Ti’s final report provided alternative recommendations for the size and location of a new landfill and provided a schedule and cost estimates for closing and covering the existing landfill in an environmentally safe manner.
