Arlington, Va.

Technologists, Inc. (Ti), an international engineering and management consulting company that works primarily in challenging and remote environments, recently hosted more than 25 organizations at an open house in Kabul to display its expansive line of construction materials manufactured at its Production and Manufacturing Unit (PMU). Among officials attending the event were the Afghan Minister of Public Works and other Afghan officials, as well as representatives of USAID and the American University of Afghanistan, along with private sector companies.

“In keeping with our ‘self-performance’ model, we have found that self-produced construction materials provide us with more predictability in scheduling and pricing, better quality control, and significant cost savings which we pass along to the client,” said Sayed Aziz Azimi, Ti’s founder and CEO. “I am extremely proud that we continue to provide local jobs which helps make the Afghan people more secure and prosperous.”

Ti is now selling directly to the building industry a range of construction materials including masonry products such as concrete, CMU block, various sizes of crushed stone and aggregate, curbstone and pre-fabricated box culverts, manholes and other drainage structures. Its state-of–the-art metal fabrication facility produces metal studs, channels and trusses, doors and window frames, light poles and accessories, assorted electrical panels, switch gears, cable trays and fittings. Ti’s Architectural and Engineering (A-E) Division, also in Kabul, can provide design support to clients in customizing materials and can turn-key rapid deployment services such as conversion of shipping containers for housing, storage and offices, as well as providing associated utility hook-ups and accessories.
