Women's Dormitory at the American University of Afghanistan

Ti built a three-story state-of-the-art women’s dormitory at the American University of Afghanistan as the major subcontractor to Perez, APC. Ti had previously partnered with this leading architectural firm to design and build the International Center for Afghan Women’s Economic Development at the same university.

The building includes a coordinator room, bedrooms, latrines and ablution areas, laundry, fitness center, safe rooms, TV rooms, and dining and study areas. Ti also designed and built the electrical distribution system, fire-sprinkler system, central heating, telecommunication systems, sanitary sewer system, potable water distribution system, plus exterior walkways, patios, chain-link fencing, and gates.

The project was valued at more than $4.1 million. Funding was provided by USAID’s Promote Gender Equity and Women’s Empowerment Program. The new dormitory, which will house as many as 200 female students, was inaugurated in January 2018.
